HP 1630G Logic Analyzer
Oh, my, I just bought this beauty online. A witness of an other era, an era when I was just learning the basics, the era of Z80 and ZX Spectrum, 8 bit, when "microcomputer" didn't mean 64 bit and 32 GBytes. It was 8 bit, one megahertz and we used "kilobytes" in like normal sentences every day.
I really hope it arrives, I really hope I get it. I hope it won't gets trashed because bad packaging, the post won't lost it or something. It seems to be in very good condition, tons of pods, self-test is ok. Healthy, as shiny and beautiful as it was as a youngster. Speaking of youngster, when I was about 18, I wanted something like this sooooo bad, I would have gave three fingers to get one. It was of course impossible, one had to go and find a job where these kinds of things were available but even that was not trivial.
Anyway, I am building up my retro computing HW lab, this will be of course an important part of it. I already have some stuff, as I am constantly hunting for good deals on these. Not easy, lots of broken equipment, scratched, missing parts, "as it is, not working" deals... anyway, Xmas comes on October this year! :)
